These Dark Chocolate Ganache Truffles are the perfect thing to cure your chocolate craving. They are so easy to make since don't require any baking and are so delicious. Each truffle will melt in your mouth leaving behind a trail of rich chocolate-y goodness.
TOTAL TIME: 20 minutes (plus chilling)
SERVINGS: 20 truffles
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup heavy cream
16 oz. chocolate chips
4 tablespoons butter (melted)
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder or 1 cup melted chocolate chips (optional for garnish)
RECIPE:
Begin by bringing your heavy cream to a simmer. Then pour it into a bowl over the chocolate chips and cover. Set it aside for 5 minutes, untouched. After 5 minutes, add in your butter and whisk until everything is completely smooth. Place your bowl in the fridge for 2-3 hours, or until the chocolate ganache is completely set and the consistency of cookie dough.
Once your ganache has set, remove it from the fridge and scoop out balls slightly smaller than golf balls. You should be able to make 20-22 balls. Roll them between your palms until they are smooth. This step might get a little messy. Place the balls on a lined baking sheet and chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Remove them from the fridge and roll them in some cocoa powder or dip them in some melted chocolate. If you dip them in chocolate, make sure to let the chocolate harden in the fridge. Make sure to dust off all excess cocoa if you choose to roll it in cocoa powder.
Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Remove from the fridge 10 minutes before serving.
