It has an intense chocolate flavor from chocolate chips and cocoa powder, but it isn't overpowering since it's balanced out with sea salt and espresso powder. These brownies are just sweet enough so they won't leave you in a sugar high after indulging. The greatest part of this recipe is that you will have brownies within an hour from when that brownie craving starts.
TOTAL TIME: 1 hour SERVINGS: 9 brownies
INGREDIENTS:
¾ cup all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
⅔ cup chocolate chips (plus more for sprinkling)
¼ cup butter (half a stick)
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup yogurt
1 tablespoon espresso powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
Sea salt (for garnish)
RECIPE:
Preheat your oven to 325° F and line an 8" x 8" baking pan with parchment.
In a bowl, combine the flour, sugars, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter, chocolate chips, and espresso powder in a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 15 seconds increments until everything is fully melted. Stir ever 15 seconds.
Add the yogurt, oil, and vanilla into the dry ingredient mixture. Then start mixing while pouring in the melted chocolate and butter. Mix until just combined. Then pour the batter into the baking pan. It is okay if it is a little thick. Make sure that the batter is in an even layer on the pan. Top with some more chocolate chips. Bake for 40-50 minutes.
